We would like to invite you to help us bring our daughter Anna home from China. Over the past several years our family has become compelled to reach out to widows and orphans in a significant way. James 1:27 tells us that true religion is to care for widows and orphans in their distress. We have been humbled by this passage as we look at many “religious” things we have done in our lives but often neglected the things that God really wanted us to be doing. We are working toward changing that and we would like to ask you to join us in making a difference in the lives of one very special orphan and widow. Over the past year we have been pursuing the adoption of our daughter Anna. She is a sweet two year old little girl who was born with Spina Bifida and a club foot. We have already fallen in love with her and can’t wait to bring her home in a few months.
If you live in or near Kansas City we invite you to join us for a day of service on Saturday, July 14th to help Pat, a local widow. You can help us raise money for Anna’s adoption by asking your friends, family, and co-workers to support your efforts by making a donation to our adoption fund. If you can’t make it that day we would still love your help in raising funds, either by requesting donations from others or making a tax-deductible donation yourself. We want everyone to experience the joy that comes from serving a widow and helping an orphan become part of a forever family.
Pat Roach married her husband Howard in 1979 and was widowed in 1987. She is an only child and has no children of her own. In 2007 Pat purchased her home in Stillwell, KS so that she could continue her job at Southwestern Bell and be closer to her mother who lives in a nursing home in Parsons, KS. Shortly after the move her step-father passed away, leaving Pat responsible for the care of her mother. Over the past year Pat has suffered from several medical issues and just hasn’t been able to do as much as she used to in caring for her home and property. Her
hope is to get the home fixed up in order to sell it in the next few years and move into a maintance free home closer to her mother in Parsons now that she is retired. We plan to bless Pat by doing light tree
trimming, yard clean up, interior cleaning of hard to reach places, power-washing and re-painting deck furniture, and cleaning/sealing her tile floor.
